I was quite young when I found out that one cannot donate blood in India if they’re gay, trans, or bisexual. Which meant that a gay or a bisexual man had to lie to donate blood, and for the trans community, even that is out of reach. So last year, when I was working on Durex and Fortis, I realised that World Blood Donor Day falls right in the middle of Pride Month. The irony wrote the rest of the idea for me.

Durex, however, couldn’t proceed with the idea due to legal concerns, and Fortis didn’t want to risk the PR around it. Saving this idea and my blood till it sees the light of day.
